Custom labelled wine is one of the more versatile corporate gift options available. It works for client thank yous, staff recognition, end-of-year gifts, event giveaways, and conference packs. The challenge is knowing which product suits which occasion, and how to match the bottle to the budget and the recipient. Here’s a practical guide to making the right call.
Start With the Occasion, Not the Bottle
Before choosing a wine, think about how it’s going to be received. A single bottle handed to a long-term client at a Christmas function lands differently from 200 bottles in branded bags at a trade show. The product, the packaging, and the label design should all reflect the context.
For high-value client gifts or executive-level presentations, a varietal or premium bottle in a timber box makes a strong impression. For large-volume event giveaways or conference packs, the select or sparkling range in a cardboard box keeps costs manageable without looking cheap.
The Product Ranges, and What They Suit
Sparkling wines ($16 to $28) are crowd-pleasers for events and celebrations. The Peterson House range is Hunter Valley grown and well regarded. Prosecco at $16 is practical for higher-volume orders. The Cuvee and Pink options at $24 to $28 step up nicely for launches, milestone events, or gifts where you want something a bit more special.
Select wines ($13 to $15) are the most budget-conscious option for volume orders. Classic Red and Classic White at $13 each are well suited to trade shows, large client lists, or internal staff gifting where quantity matters. The Moscato at $15 is a good pick if you know your audience leans toward sweeter styles.
Varietal wines ($16 to $65) cover the widest range and give you the most flexibility to match the gift to the recipient. The Watermark range at $16 covers all the mainstream varietals. Step up through the Andrew Thomas, Ballabourneen, Saddler’s Creek, and Woodwards labels for clients or occasions where quality is the priority. The Woodwards 2018 Reserve Hunter Shiraz at $65 is a genuinely impressive bottle for senior relationships or milestone gifts.
Organic wines ($22 to $40) from Tamburlaine suit clients or businesses where sustainability is part of their identity. Worth considering if you know your recipient cares about that kind of provenance.
Dessert and fortified wines are a point of difference for clients who appreciate something less mainstream. An 8-year-old Liqueur Muscat at $30 in a timber box is the kind of gift that gets remembered.
Mini bottles ($10 each, minimum 24) are purpose-built for events. A 200mL Peterson House Sparkling White or Pink is practical as a table gift, a place card holder, or a branded takeaway at corporate functions and weddings.
Spirits ($55 to $80) from Pokolbin Distillery, available as gin, vodka, or liqueur, are a strong option for premium gifting or clients who don’t drink wine. Custom labelled gin has become a popular corporate gift in recent years.
Branded water ($1.50 per 600mL bottle) works for conferences, seminars, or any function where you want your brand visible throughout the day without the alcohol element.
Packaging Makes a Difference
All pricing at Wine Design includes artwork, custom labelling, and GST. The packaging is where you can adjust the feel of the gift significantly.
A gloss cardboard single box in black or white at $4 to $5 is clean and practical. The timber single box with Perspex lid and woodwool at $25 sits at the premium end and genuinely presents well. For multi-bottle gifts, the double timber box ($30) or three-pack ($35) gives you the option to curate a selection for recipients who enjoy exploring.
The box itself is also labelled with your logo, so the branding carries through from the bottle to the packaging.

Minimum Orders and Lead Time
All wine orders require a minimum of 12 bottles. Mini bottles have a minimum of 24. Spirits are minimum 12. That means custom labelled wine isn’t only for large organisations. A business sending a gift to a dozen key clients can put together a fully branded order at a very reasonable per-bottle cost.
Artwork is included in the pricing. Wine Design’s graphic team works from your logo and any images you provide, so you don’t need to come with a finished design.
Freight is additional to the bottle and packaging pricing, which is worth factoring into your budget for interstate or remote deliveries.

With Hunter Valley sourcing and everything handled in-house from design through to dispatch, it’s a straightforward way to produce a gift that reflects your brand.
